Is Carote cookware good?
Yes. Carote is a widely sold nonstick cookware brand, and its strength is a healthy, PFAS-free nonstick coating at a price that makes it easy to outfit a whole kitchen. It is a strong all-rounder for everyday cooking: it is light, it cleans up fast, and it works on induction.
Is Carote cookware safe?
Carote's nonstick lines are free from PFAS, PTFE, PFOA and PFOS, and the coatings are lead- and cadmium-free. That is the main reason people switch to it. As with any nonstick pan, cook on low to medium heat and use a soft utensil to keep the coating at its best.
Is Carote cookware free from PFAS, PTFE, PFOA and PFOS?
Yes. Carote's ceramic and granite nonstick coatings are PFOA-free, PFOS-free and PTFE-free, and the range is sold as PFAS-free. You get nonstick performance without the polymers found in many conventional nonstick pans.
Does Carote cookware have Teflon?
No. Teflon is a brand name for a PTFE coating. Carote nonstick pans use a mineral ceramic or granite coating instead, which is PTFE-free, so they do not contain Teflon.
What is Carote cookware made of?
Each piece is a lightweight metal body with a nonstick coating on top. Depending on the line, the coating is mineral ceramic, a mineral granite composite, or a titanium-reinforced nonstick. The stainless line is 18/10 stainless steel with no coating. Most pieces add cool-touch handles and glass lids.
Is Carote cookware ceramic or granite?
Both, as separate lines. Carote makes a ceramic line with a mineral ceramic coating and a white granite line with a mineral granite composite coating. They look similar and cook a little differently: granite is the all-rounder, ceramic is the gentlest. There is also a titanium line and a stainless line.
What is the difference between Carote ceramic, granite, stainless steel and titanium cookware?
They use different nonstick, or none at all. Ceramic is the gentlest and best for light cooking. White granite is the mineral composite we recommend for daily all-purpose use. Titanium adds a reinforced, harder-wearing nonstick for heavier cooking. Stainless steel has no coating, for searing, broth and a pan that lasts for years. All four work on induction and are oven safe.
Where is Carote cookware made?
In China. Carote is headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and its cookware is made in Zhejiang. It is sold around the world, including across the US, UK and Asia.
Is Carote cookware dishwasher safe?
Mostly. The stainless and titanium lines are fine in the dishwasher. The ceramic and granite lines are best hand-washed, because a dishwasher can wear a ceramic coating over time. If you do run them, use the top rack and a mild detergent.
Is Carote cookware oven safe?
Yes. Most Carote cookware is oven safe up to 480°F (250°C). On a piece with a detachable handle, remove the handle before the oven. On a piece with a fixed handle, follow the lid and handle limits on the product page.
